For spectators

Live tracking conveys the event in a way that is both intuitive and rich allowing enthusiasts as well as outsiders to understand the competition in a way never possible before. This is an amazing site. The only issue I have is that I stay up all night watching the racing. My wife is away at the moment so I can sit in bed and watch the racing. If she was home I would have to be a good boy go to sleep and watch the replays in the morning which is never as good as watching live. Well done.

TracTrac is in my opinion a media revolution for sailing and a great tool to watch and learn about sailing. Besides that, it has been a great tool to evaluate races and find out exactly what and when I took key decisions in my racing. It has put life into our sport like nothing else has been able to in the last couple of decades.

For coaches

The ability of the live tracking to visualize key moments allows the coach to analyze the race and facilitates more qualified feedback to the competitor. Live tracking offers a very intuitive and illustrative support for communicating key points of the race between coach and athlete. For race organizers

The advanced live tracking system makes organizing better e the vents easier. Monitoring the races and always having an updated view of the progress of the event facilitates the work of the race organisation. During the event the system can automatically generate mark rounding tables and result list alleviating the race organisation and freeing up human resources in the event organization. Knowing where all boats are at any time also improves the safety of the event considerably. Furthermore, the race committee has instant access to data on the course outlay that assists the race committee in optimally laying the course. Also, tracking data is frequently evaluated to support more qualified jury decisions.

The challenge of media of covering an event with participants moving over large areas outside of sight of anyone wanting to follow the event is alleviated by the real time presentation of the event that the tracking offers. The reporter will know exactly what happened, when and where making for better understanding, more qualified reporting and more engaged journalists.

Through TracTrac's live coverage at the Laser Radial European Championships I could see how the contest was developing moment by moment. One great advantage was that by the time the sailors returned to shore, I could ask them the right questions to get the best possible story.
